U.S. based luthier Augustino Lo Prinzi has built thousands of stringed instruments, his first passion being the classical guitar. Understanding that every aspect of the guitar will affect the sound, Lo Prinzi builds his guitars following old world traditions while still finding his unique voice by altering scale lengths and bracing patterns for different sized guitars. This particular instrument has a 6 fan (with treble stiffener) bracing pattern and a 664mm scale length. The very dark piece of spruce used on the soundboard has a very interesting “quilted” texture to it with an almost 3 dimensional quality. The tone is very rounded, well balanced, and has great volume without being boomy. Top is French polished, and the back and sides are lacquered, a very practical finish for a guitar that will see extended use. A very pleasing and well-priced guitar for the player on a budget looking for a quality concert-level instrument.
