The classical guitars of Manuel Reyes almost never appear on the market - so this is a very rare treat to have this magnificent instrument here in our showroom - it's only the 2nd classical Reyes we've had in the past 20 years. It is an extraordinary instrument in every way - ease of playabilty, production of huge sound with little effort, lyrical, clean, balanced and gorgeous quality of sound. Words fall short in trying to express just how great a "classical" guitar this is. If it has any flamenco characteristic in it - it would definitely be the responsiveness - the immediate attack with "fundamental forward" which gives the guitar great clarity and balance. There is overtone content which trails the fundamental to produce a lovely, resonant sound with a lovely textured sustain. Although a cedar top, it sounds like a blend between spruce and cedar - very compelling that it shares qualities found in both woods. Condition of the guitar is amazing as well - no cracks or prior repairs, all original with very little wear. This is for the most discriminating player or collector seeking a great sounding Reyes in such amazing shape. This guitar is a true masterpiece, a truly remarkable and rare instrument.
