Description
We consider Jose Marin Plazuelo to be one of the finest, most consistent guitar makers in the world at anywhere near this price. His guitars have outstanding tonal qualities, are expertly made with great attention to detail and are just plain fun to play. They follow in the tradition of Santos and Barbero being very light and fairly small bodied. This flamenco model is nearly identical to the guitar made by his well-known uncle, Antonio Marin Montero and has the featherweight, punchy raspiness of the southern Spanish school. Playability is a dream, and materials are superb. This guitar has had some play time on it and sound is therefore nice and loose and very open. Condition is excellent - no cracks, damage - however it was converted to tuning machines from wooden pegs several years ago for easier tuning (the original wooden pegs are included with the guitar). Otherwise, only a normal amount of respectful playing wear. This is a great flamenco built deep in the heart of Andalucia.Orfeo Magazine #8 - The Granada School
