Description

This is Wolfgang Jellinghaus' tribute to the origins of the modern classical guitar in southern Germany (Bavaria) in the early decades of the 20th century in the workshop of Hermann Hauser I. The most famous of these guitars of course is the 1937 Hauser immortalized by Andres Segovia - the original now housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This instrument primarily borrows structural details from Hauser, and the aesthetic details are those of Jellinghaus. The guitar is lightly built with a nice firm response, great balance and evenness of tone across all registers. It also has a the sleek, easy neck shape for the left hand. Overall a very impressive concert guitar, and a meticulously well-produced tribute to one of history's most legendary workshops.
