Gerundino is considered by many to be one of the best flamenco builders of the latter half of the twentieth century. His guitars have been played by many top players, most notably Paco Pena, Paco del Gastor and Juan Martin. This particular guitar from 1962 is a very rare find, and is one of the earliest examples still in existence. An excellent guitar in every regard, it was built before Gerundino switched to the more modern, big-bodied style he became known for. Curiously, he also spelled his name with a "J" on the label.
The sound of the guitar is excellent - it has an immediate attack with a honey-like, deep, woody texture. It plays very easy with low action and little buzzing. The guitar is very lightweight, typical of the best Andalucian flamenco guitars. Materials are very high quality, and the condition of the guitar is exceptional and original, with no cracks or repairs. A wonderful concert guitar for the serious flamenco player and collector.
A hardshell case is included with this guitar.
