This guitar was built in the famous Jose Ramirez III workshop, which for over half a century has produced instruments performed on by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening.
The tone of this guitar has that classic, identifiable Ramirez sound from this era - a rich, thick and yet clear voice throughout, and has that essential warm, mysterious and moody quality that made Ramirez famous. There is one small repair on the top at the extremity of the treble-side of the lower bout supported internally with two cleats and the guitar has been re-polished but with the same famous orange-tint color as was used originally by Ramirez. A couple of the stems on the tuning machines are also slightly bent but they are in fine working order and in no way need to be replaced. Otherwise, this is a fantastic example of a "classic" Ramirez from their golden era.
