This is a lovely, meticulously-made guitar from one of America's most well-known luthiers, Dake Traphagen. It has a smooth, round and balanced classical tone, with a fast response more typical of a Spanish flamenco guitar. It is a very fun guitar to play, and since the bracing pattern follows that of Miguel Rodriguez, it has added punch that will provide plenty of sound for any concert situation. The spruce top gives the tone great color and balance, while at the same time proves fullness in every note without sacrificing clarity between the voices. The guitar also has a 20th fret for the high E-string, allowing players to reach the high C natural required for such pieces as "Sueno en la Floresta" by Barrios. Playability and setup are very comfortable. It is in excellent condition with only some supercial playing wear in the finish.
