Description

This is a fantastic concert instrument built in the slightly more compact (yet full-sized) "Hauser-style" body shape that has for many players and collectors defined the great Velazquez style. For sound, it has all the trademark Velazquez qualities - clean, pure tone with razor-sharp separation between all voices and a natural, beautiful, "woody" quality to the sound. The fundamental of every note is crystal clear yet the resonance coming out of the box adds a nice rich fullness to the body of each note. The cedar top does add a silky layer of very controlled overtones which does add a bit warmth when compared with Velazquez' spruce instruments. Playability is very easy thanks to the sleek shape and contour of the neck, as well as the precise set up. Condition is excellent – no cracks or repairs, only some very minor wear in the top. Tuners are Rodgers. Overall an extremely beautiful and collectible instrument by arguably the most important and legendary American maker to date.
