This guitar was originally marketed as part of a limited edition (number #1 of 3 in total) with this design. Built with European spruce top with book-matched zircote (aged 40 years at time construction in 2002) for the back, sides, bridge, fingerboard and head veneers. The neck is of flamed maple with a zircote center truss. Of course the most striking feature of this instrument is the flamed maple "Double Dragon" and "Ivy" inlay work in the back and sides, complemented by the unique dragon motif inlay in the rosette. Mr. Morello's signature (which is visible - see photo) and date (photo unavailable due to the brace angle) were made on internal braces inside the body of the guitar, instead of on a traditional label that would normally be glued to the inside of the back, viewable from the soundhole. The guitar has lattice bracing and is comfortably set up for immediate use. NOTE: This guitar is being sold in "as-is" condition and does have several small, hairline (un-repaired) cracks in the back. Since these do not affect playability and are of no overall structural concern, we did not have the repair work done. However if the winning bidder wants to have the repair work prior to shipping, we can arrange this with our local luthier, German Vazquez Rubio for an additional fee (we would need a quote from him first), or the buyer can simply buy the guitar as-is and decide to have it repaired (or not) on their own. This consideration has been factored into the very low starting bid. The guitar is in otherwise original condition with very little signs of prior use.
