Description

Unrelated to Miguel Rodriguez of Cordoba, this Granada-based builder is one of the top makers from Andalucia. Several top players in Spain perform with these guitars, most noticeably Vicente Coves, Gerardo Nuñez, Juan & Pepe Habichuela, and Enrique Morente among others. This particular guitar is a monster instrument by this maker - huge sound, akin to the most powerful instruments being made today with lattice bracing or sandwhich tops - yet with a rich, traditional old-world Spanish sound. This has the classic headstock shape of this maker which is carved in style of a pomegranate (a tribute to the city of "Granada" which is actually the Spanish word for "pomegranate"). This is a solid concert guitar in this price range and we recommend it highly both for its concert-worthy sound and refined, unique workmanship. Condition of the instrument is excellent with only some modest wear in the finish (and a nick in the tip of the headstock) and tap plates have been added to this guitar, making it useful in both classical and flamenco settings - setup is currently for classical but it could easily be lowered for flamenco playing.
