This guitar, a "Torres" model spruce top with gorgeous select CSA rosewood back and sides (hence the designation "Especial" on the label due to the use of his choicest materials), is a true beauty, in terms of both its elegant appearance and incredible tone. Materials and polish are top-notch, and the subtle, clean aesthetics make for a beautiful guitar, with tasteful and clean craftsmanship all around. The sound is truly impressive, crisp and loud with soulful Granada flair. Tone is fat and creamy across the entire register. It is also ultra-responsivine giving it great dynamic range and a large color palette. The slightly more compact "Torres" dimensions make it a joy in the hands since it is so lively and comfortable to play - one of those guitars that is hard to put down! Condition is excellent with only some mild playing wear in the finish. A very capable player's guitar, and a fantastic value by one of Granada's legendary builders.

Although born in Jaen, luthier Antonio Raya Pardo has lived in Granada since childhood, and until his unfortunate passing in 2022, was one of the most important names in the Granada school of guitar making. After establishing his own workshop in the early 1970s, he went on to become a prolific maker. With nearly 600 guitars under his belt, Raya Pardo was certainly one of the more experienced luthiers of his time.
