Description

This is the cedar-topped version of the "Hauser" model, based on the iconic instrument built in 1937 by Hermann Hauser Sr, famously played by Andres Segovia for decades and now housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This 1937 Hauser is one of the most admired guitars by luthiers, players and audiences in history, and this reproduction by Cordoba is done faithfully according to drawings that Kenny Hill has studied extensively and integrated into its design and production. The remarkable qualities of the sound are its perfect balance, crystal-like clarity between voices, bell-like trebles and sturdy basses. The guitar is very easy to play with a very comfortable neck shape and easy (but buzz resistant) action. This "Limited Edition" version uses very dramatic African rosewood with contrasting light/dark features for the back and sides and has a thin nitro finish. Although the guitar has had one previous owner, it is in brand-new condition with no signs of prior use. Overall a great guitar in and of itself and a successful tribute to one of the great classics of history.
