Cordoba Luthier Select Series "Santos Hernandez" SP/MP

An alliance of craft and tradition, decades in the making: The Cordoba Luthier Select Series. These exquisite nylon string guitars are hand-crafted by master luthiers in extremely limited batches. This model, a limited run of only 20 instruments being made exclusively for GSI, is the "Santos Hernandez" model which is inspired and largely based on a 1921 Santos that we had several years ago, which made a lasting impression on us for its majestic sound and beauty of build. To capture as closely as possible the look and sound of the original, very old, dark and aged spruce was chosen for this model to match the very darkened spruce on the original, as well as for its overtone-rich quality of sound. For this model, it also completely French-polished. This is an extremely impressive tribute to Santos as it delivers a dark, deep, mysterious and rich quality of tone across all registers with singing trebles and velvety basses. It also has surprising power, allowing players to project the sound in any sized room. The clarity of the voices within chords are exceptionally good both close-up and at distances needed to perform in large concert halls – indeed this guitar can capture any listeners’ attention and draw them to the finest details in any performance. Overall, another fantastic and authentic tribute to one of the great masters of guitar making history.
