A Woodworking Family

Brück comes from a family with three generations of woodworkers. He discovered the classical guitar as a teenager, studied at the University of Giessen and began a full luthier apprenticeship in 1986. In 1989 he built a guitar under the guidance of José Luis Romanillos, and by 1991 he had his own workshop in Königsberg, in Biebertal near Giessen – the address printed on his labels.

Traditional Guitars in the Spanish Spirit

His guitars of the 1990s and 2000s were traditional solid tops, made very much in the spirit of the old Spanish masters like Torres, Santos Hernández and Vicente Arias: a soulful, Spanish flair combined with modern strengths – great volume, evenness of tone across all registers and excellent intonation. The sound is smooth, clear and lyrical, and the workmanship very exact, with perfect attention to detail.

The Brück Double Top

From around 2010 Brück turned increasingly to the double top, and these instruments made him one of the most sought-after German makers, with noticeable power across all registers. His waiting list now runs to many years, so his guitars rarely reach the used market. He numbers every guitar by hand on the label – No. 83 in 2002, No. 170 in 2012.
