Description
Flamenco guitars are a rare find from Tobias Braun, so we are delighted to offer this fantastic blanca that he built in 1996 and named "La Mediterranea". At first glance this guitar has some striking features - notably the Santos-inspired "wave pattern" mosaic in the rosette which is also found in other areas of the guitar - in the central strip at the foot, the inlay framing the rosewood center strip on the back and even in the tie-block. A small single-checker motif is also used in the top edge purfling and surrouding the rosette on both sides. The sound is just as marvelous as its appearance - it has plenty of punch, bite and growl, and its lightweight build give it the feel and responsiveness normally found in the great mid-century Spanish blancas. Tobias told us that he modeled this guitar structurally on a 1989 Manuel Reyes that was owned by a very fine flamenco player and teacher whom he knows. The guitar is concert-ready condition and would sound fantastic in any solo or ensemble situation.Luthier Bio: Tobias Braun
