Description

This is an excellent flamenco negra from Dutch guitar maker Alex van der Horst (aka "Alejandro") while he was based in Malaga, Southern Spain. While not very well known here in the US, Alejandro was one of the most promising European luthiers of this era, until he unfortunately stopped building due to illness. Sadly, Alejandro passed away in September of 2009. Nora Buschman plays a classical Alejandro, while Pedro Soler uses a 1983 flamenco negra.

This guitar has been played regularly for many years and therefore has a lovely open, loose and rich sound. It modulates easily between a sweet and lyrical tone, and a bright ponticello, all with different positions of the right hand. Other than some modest playing wear, the guitar is in great condition and appears to have no repairs or damage of any kind. Playability is a easy with a comfortably shaped neck, and a 20th fret for players needing a high c natural. Fitted with Rodgers tuners. Overall, a great concert instrument for an affordable price. Highly recommended.
