Mariano Tezanos was world famous for the work of his father (same name) who stamped M. T. inside some of the greatest guitars from Ramirez during the 60s, 70s and 80s. Teodoro Perez also worked with Ramirez as one of his great artisans from the same period. These two veterans of the great Madrid style teamed up in 1991 to produce some great instruments with stunning materials.
Considering the quality of sound, materials, playability and workmanship, this "Concierto" model from 2002 is extremely hard to beat for this price range. The sound is very well balanced with clear singing trebles, and excellent rich, robust bases with great sustain. It has cypress lining internally on the sides for added power and increased warmth in the tone emanating from the box. Condition is excellent with no damage or repairs, only some playing wear in the finish - mostly done by its first owner, the late Dimitri Diatchenko. With the beautiful rosewood sides and back, immaculate workmanship and big, Madrid-style sound, this is a great value for the price.
