Description

The famous “Millennium” model was pioneered by the American builder, Thomas Humphrey, and played by countless concert artists over the past 2 decades, including Sharon Isbin, the Assads, Eliot Fisk and many others. The revolutionary design consisted in re-thinking the bracing of the soundboard with the purpose of increased transmission of tone, as well as playability – perhaps the most famous feature of this model is the elevated fingerboard, a practice which has been adopted by several other makers since Humphrey popularized it on the classical guitar scene. Thomas Humphrey used to pre-make parts of his guitars in order to be able to complete multiple instruments at once. Prior to his passing, Humphrey had nearly completed the next batch of his guitars having guitar bodies and necks roughly complete. After Humphrey’s passing, this particular guitar was completed by another luthier, Lucio Núñez, using Humphrey’s original parts.

The guitar has lattice bracing and a tone similar to the guitars completed by Humphrey. It has a powerful, deep, cello-like and focused sound with great projection.
