Description

This is an excellent guitar all around. The parts and body were built by the late Robert Mattingly in 1992 - whom many consider to have been southern California's top builder for several decades. The final assembly was done in 2013 by Peter Cary, as is documented on the label. It's in excellent shape with no damage or repairs, only very modest playing wear in the finish. The bracing internally is a modified 5-fan system, likely a tribute to Miguel Rodriguez of Cordoba, Spain - with whom Mattingly considered a mentor, due to some valuable time he spent in the Rodriguez workshop. Soundwise, it has a bold and even sound up and down the register with thick (but ultra-fast responding) trebles and rich, warm basses. It's very easy to play with concert-ready action and setup. Excellent value for the price.
