Description

This is one of the great Miguel Rodriguez guitars originally owned and used by Angel Romero for several years on the concert stage. Angel told us the story of how he acquired this great guitar - he was visiting the Rodriguez workshop just after this guitar had been strung up - he played it and "had to have it". When Miguel told Angel that it was not possible - the guitar had already been ordered by someone else - Angel etched his initials "AR" into the upper harmonic bar to secure the ownership. Fortunately all involved were so charmed by this act that Angel was able to acquire it. Even by Rodriguez standards, sound is huge, bold and rich. It also has excellent sustain and very fast response – all hallmarks of any superior Rodriguez of this caliber. Despite it being a longscale, it is very easy to play - Rodriguez instruments from this period are known for their elegantly shaped necks and very comfortable playability and this is a supreme example. Condition is excellent with no cracks or repairs and the materials are quite intriguing - it's made with cedar for the soundboard and a beautiful set of colorful, fairly straight-grained (with a couple of "wavy" areas) CSA rosewood for the back and sides. This guitar is about as spectacular as it gets - one of the few Rodriguez hand-selected and used professionally by one of histories top players. Very desirable for every reason - its quality of sound, aesthetic beauty and provenance – collector and performer alike will find this to be an extremely exciting instrument to own and play. A letter from Angel Romero is included with the guitar, stating himself as original owner.
