Trained in Milan and Voghera
Daniele Marrabello is one of the great younger talents of Italian guitar making. He works near his hometown of Milan, where he also completed his studies at the Civic School of Luthiery: in the first three years he learned the basic techniques of instrument making, and for his final year he apprenticed in the Voghera workshop of maestro Enrico Bottelli. In 2012 he opened his own workshop in Vimodrone, just outside Milan, where he builds traditional instruments with particular attention to beautiful details and exceptional materials – a quality reflected in a sound that is more and more appreciated in Italy and abroad.
Science and Musical Sensitivity
His inspiration comes primarily from Hermann Hauser I and the Spanish luthiers Antonio de Torres, Domingo Esteso and Enrique García, whose guitars he has heard in concert and on many recordings. He measures the specific weight and flexibility of the wood to gain objective parameters, but always follows his own musical sensitivity and experience in shaping it.
A Story in Every Guitar
Each guitar is personally meaningful to Daniele, capturing moments of his life during the time he builds it. In 2020, during the Italian lockdown, he built a guitar dedicated to his newborn daughter, with the words "a Nina" and a watercolor red poppy on its label.
