Description

A 2020 classical guitar by Italian luthier Daniele Marrabello, with a spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides – No. 137.

In the videos above, Jaxon Williams plays Brad Richter's "Flirtation" and "Angular Tango" on this guitar.

Inspired by Hauser I, Torres, Esteso and García

Daniele's main inspiration comes from Hermann Hauser I and the Spanish luthiers Torres, Esteso and García, whose extraordinary timbres he has heard in concert and on recordings. He measures, but he builds by ear.

Piano-Like Clarity

Like a Hauser, the guitar has piano-like clarity in all registers, precise balance and a vast color palette, from bright and brassy ponticello to milky, luminous sul tasto. Its notes have a firm fundamental with transparent overtones, and its details and materials are as carefully chosen as its sound.

Background

Daniele Marrabello: A Young Talent from Milan

Daniele Marrabello is one of the great younger talents of Italian guitar making. He was born in Milan and studied there at the Civic School of Luthiery, spending his final year as an apprentice in the Voghera workshop of Enrico Bottelli. In 2012 he opened his own workshop in Vimodrone, just outside Milan.

Hauser and the Spanish Masters

Daniele's inspiration comes primarily from Hermann Hauser I and the Spanish masters Antonio de Torres, Domingo Esteso and Enrique García. His approach is both scientific and instinctive: he measures the specific weight and flexibility of every piece of wood, then lets his musical sensitivity guide the work. He pays particular attention to beautiful details and exceptional materials.
