This guitar is a monster of a flamenco from Miguel Rodriguez Jr., arguably one of the finest luthiers of the twentieth century. It has all the qualities of traditional gypsy flamenco guitars, including a big sound that resonates off the top, back and sides. It has a loose, loud and penetrating sound with big basses and crystal clear trebles. Although a blanca, it is made with cedar for the soundboard, a combination of woods found in many of the finest Rodriguez instruments. The instrument was previously owned by the great flamenco player Manolo Franco - you can see him in the video below performing on this very instrument. It is a superb example of a great Andalucian flamenco by one of history's greatest builders. There are two cracks on the back, repaired with glue only, and the top also has two cracks, both cleated. The guitar is perfectly stable and in concert-ready condition. Note: Since the time this guitar was origially photographed, the tuning machines have been changed from Reischl (seen in the photos) to Fustero (with lyre). Otherwise, the guitar is currently in the same condition now as in these photos.
