This guitar was built in the famous Jose Ramirez III workshop, which for over half a century has produced instruments performed on by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening. It is very easy to play, with a lovely neck and easy action - Ramirez guitars from this era are typically longscale (664mm) but this is rare standard scale with 650mm. The tone is thick yet clear, and has that essential warm, mysterious and moody quality that made Ramirez famous - likely influenced strongly by the interior cypress lining to the sides combined interacting with the cedar top. It features first rate materials and is in great condition for its age - no cracks or repairs anywhere on the instrument. Only some minor wear in the finish including a string-ding behind the bridge at the high e-string, otherwise in amazingly excellent condition given it's age of over 40 years. Overall a great example of a fine Ramirez for either collector or concert player.
