An absolutely stunning guitar by one of Italy's most interesting guitar makers. The guitar is heavier than most due to having extra-thick back and sides. This forces the top to do all the vibrating, making this guitar project extremely well while retaining all the clarity of the note. This instrument is extremely well-suited to ensemble work (with percussion ensemble, orchestra, piano, etc.). Angel Romero has been the previous and only owner of this particular guitar to date.
The instrument is named “Costanza” and it was made with very dark CSA rosewood for the back with contrasting lighter "sapwood heavy" sides, which is a gorgeous combination. It features Giussani's classic and unique aesthetic – very simple design in the headstock, rosette and purfling, which allows for the dramatic natural elements to stand out. Playability is a breeze with a comfortable neck shape. Although a second-hand instrument, the condition is excellent, it recently had some cracks repaired on the back which are now invisible, and the center seam on the top was beautifully spliced by GV Rubio, with finish touch-up leaving it looking virtually new. Incredibly versatile instrument for the active concert artist looking for a workhorse of a guitar that has been broken in by none other than the great Angel Romero!
A letter from Angel Romero stating provenance is included with the guitar.
