This is the first guitar Giussani ever made with elevated fingerboard, inspired by the design of Thomas Humprey. This was done at the request of its original owner Gianvito Pulzone, member of the "Guitart Quartet" in Italy. Gianvito's idea was to have a Giussani guitar built with maximum power and sound, primarily in order to play with orquestra - in fact the first concerts done with this guitar were in concert with Leo Brouwer for the debut of the Concerto Italico. Gianvito toured the world with this guitar, playing concerts with it in Cuba, USA, Germany and many times with Leo Brouwer as conductor - in particular the first performance of "Gismontiana", the second of Brouwer's concertos to be written by and dedicated to the Guitart Quartet (see video below for youtube video of the "cadenza" from this piece). This guitar has appeared on numerous recordings including "Gismontiana" on the GHA label, and on "Respiri" with the clarinet virtuoso Gabriele Mirabassi, as well as many live recordings for television and radio. After Gianvito received this guitar, all other members of the Guitart Quartet commissioned the same model from Giussani so it was a hit from the get-go. This guitar has been well cared for even with all of its use - apart from some minor finish work to smooth over some wear, the guitar is in excellent, original condition with no cracks or repairs. This is a great sounding, fun to play guitar with a big back-story.
