An absolutely stunning guitar by one of Italy's most interesting guitar makers. The guitar is heavier than most due to having extra-thick back and sides. This forces the top to do all the vibrating, making this guitar project extremely well while retaining all the clarity of the note. This instrument is extremely well-suited to ensemble work (with percussion ensemble, orchestra, piano, etc.). Pepe Romero (previous owner of this particular guitar) has had great success concertizing on these instruments for concerto work while on tour in Europe. It is also used by members of guitar ensembles, including the Brazilian Guitar Quartet and Guitart Quartet.
This 1993 model is made with straight, very quartered CSA rosewood for the back and sides and uses European spruce for the soundboard. Typical of this makers style, it also has a unique aesthetic - very simple design in the headstock, rosette and purfling, which allows for the dramatic natural elements to stand out. Condition is excellent. A letter from Pepe Romero stating provenance is included with the guitar.
A hardshell case is included with this guitar.
