Description

This 2012 Michel Brück No. 170 is a spruce and CSA rosewood double-top classical guitar – the kind of Brück that rarely reaches the used market.

A Brück Double Top

Over the past decade and more, Michel has become increasingly sought-after for his double-top instruments, and this guitar lives up to their reputation with noticeable power across all registers. It has a slightly raised fingerboard for improved playability and is fitted with Alessi tuners. The label is numbered 170, dated 2012 and signed.

Craftsmanship and Condition

Michel is also a very skilled craftsman, so the inlay work and overall appearance of the guitar are beautiful and tasteful. Although second-hand, it is in excellent condition – the perfect guitar for the concert player seeking extra power for the concert stage.

Background

Michel Brück: From Romanillos to the Double Top

German luthier Michel Brück works in Königsberg, a village in Biebertal near Giessen. In 1989 he built a guitar under the guidance of José Luis Romanillos, and his traditional guitars of the following years were made very much in the spirit of the old Spanish masters like Torres, Santos Hernández and Vicente Arias – lovely, traditionally made guitars with a soulful, Spanish flair.

A Long Waiting List

From around 2010 Brück became increasingly sought-after for his double-top instruments, and he has accrued a lengthy waiting list of many years, so his guitars are difficult to get and rarely enter the used market. He numbers every guitar by hand on the label, beside the year and his signature.
