2018 Bernardo Romero SP/IN

A 2018 classical guitar by San Diego maker Bernardo Romero, with a spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides – pre-owned, in excellent condition with minor finish wear.

Focused and Agile

The overtones are rich yet controlled, so the fundamental stays focused at the core of each note; separation is excellent and the attack immediate, with balanced sustain. It is agile enough to be pushed in many musical directions – even toward flamenco.

From the Romero Family

Bernardo learned by watching his uncle Pepe Romero Jr. at work, and his grandfather Pepe Romero has played his guitars in concert.

Bernardo Romero: A New Generation of the Romero Family

Bernardo Romero is the eldest grandson of Pepe Romero and grew up watching his uncle, Pepe Romero Jr., turn beautiful woods into magnificent guitars. Gifted in both guitar playing and wood carving, he began his first guitar under Juan Miguel Carmona in Granada, Spain, and finished it in San Diego with Pepe Jr. He builds in San Diego, California.

Played by Pepe Romero

From the start Bernardo's guitars have been concert instruments, used by internationally acclaimed guitarists – his grandfather Pepe Romero has played them at the Rheingau and Schleswig-Holstein music festivals.
