American luthier Tom Blackshear has been playing and building Spanish-style guitars since the 1950s and is still active. This guitar, although built in 1977, is still a mature instrument - his 141st! Despite the longer scale the guitar is very easy to play - it's got big/high frets making it a breeze for the left hand. Materials are lovely including a set of fairly straight-grained CSA rosewood that Tom tells us was over 100 years old when the guitar was built. It's in great shape - no cracks or repairs, only some modest wear in the finish. It sounds great, with a nicely broken in, warm spruce sound.
