This guitar was built in the famous Jose Ramirez workshop, which for over half a century has produced instruments performed on by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening.
This model is the famously designated "1a", which stands for "primera" in Spanish, and means "1st" or "highest" quality. The 1a Traditional represents top quality in workmanship, detail and choice of wood. This model features a particularly striking and beautiful set of rosewood for the back and sides. It has one of their their classic rosettes and purfling which are absolutely stunning. It has all the color and warmth that is normally associated with a great classic Ramirez. For attention to detail, quality of construction and sound, this is a first-class instrument. It is very easy to play, with a lovely neck and easy action. The tone is thick yet clear, and has that essential warm, mysterious and moody quality that made Ramirez famous. Although used, it is in great condition with only some very modest playing wear.
