Description

This guitar is built with stunning flamed maple back and sides, as well as the exceptionally high-quality spruce found on all Brögger guitars. This instrument has the same power and volume of his rosewood guitars yet retains the additional warm glow of the maple. The guitar is reminiscent of the charming maple guitars of the early Madrid school, and is decorated with beautiful half-herringbone purfling on the top, sides and back as well as inside and outside the perfectly executed rosette. The guitar is a breeze to play and has a very smooth neck with comfortable action. Although used, this guitar is in amazing condition with very little signs of prior use. Exceptional instrument in every regard.

Background
Kenneth Brogger is Denmark's top builder - and one of Europe's best makers - of traditional Spanish-style guitars in his generation. He has been active for over a quarter of a century as a luthier, writer, restorer of old instruments and museum exhibitor. As a result of his tireless efforts, Brogger has become highly regarded in his native country, and was honored by the Queen of Denmark in 1997 when he was awarded the "Applied Arts Prize of 1879" and a silver Hetsch Medal, the highest recognition in the field of artisan craftsmanship. His building style is very reminiscent of the old Spanish masters (Garcia, Simplicio, Fleta) yet shows signs of the French and Granada schools (Bouchet, Friederich, Marin) as well.
