Elite Guitarist - "Una Limosna Por El Amor De Dios" by Agustin Barrios Mangore - Performance

Description

A 2015 classical guitar by Woonsun Lee, with a cedar top and maple back and sides.

In the videos above, Dominic Flynn plays the Courante from Bach's first violin partita, Ines Thome plays Barrios's "Una Limosna por el Amor de Dios", and Brig Urias and Sebastian Olarte play the "Tempo di Siciliana" from Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Sonatina Canonica – Sebastian on this guitar.

Cedar and Maple

The cedar top gives a lush harmonic richness in every note, from the bass to the highest trebles, and the maple adds a warm glow, making the sound very smooth and warm. Projection is very strong.

Woonsun's Style

With a Madrid-like weight and the quick, loose response of Granada and Córdoba, the guitar is a pleasure to play. The origami-lotus rosette and maple details are perfectly executed.

Woonsun Lee: Korean Classical Guitar Maker

Woonsun Lee is a South Korean classical guitar maker in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. A guitarist first – he decided to devote his life to the guitar after hearing Kazuhito Yamashita play Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez" – he apprenticed in Paju, building hundreds of student and concert guitars, restoring historical instruments and studying the models of Torres and Bouchet. In 2009 he set up his own workshop, building only concert guitars.

Exclusively at GSI in the USA

His style is understated, elegant and flawlessly executed, recognizable by the origami-lotus motif in the rosette and fine maple accents in the tie block, head and purfling. His "Limited" guitars are made from woods of limited stock, as the label notes. GSI is Woonsun Lee's exclusive dealer in the USA.
