Description
This instrument is made from aged Central/South American rosewood for the back and sides and Western red cedar for the soundboard. The sound is bright and punchy with great depth and balance across all registers. Overall, tone is both full-bodied and extremely clear. Workmanship is phenomenal - to truly appreciate the perfection of the craftsmanship, it almost requires viewing with a microscope. The elegant and minimalistic use of mother-of-pearl in the headstock, rosette and tie-block give the guitar a unique and beautiful aesthetic. Also includes Rogers tuners. Sahlin also adds a slight "twist" to the neck profile, which eases the stress on the left hand wrist in the lower positions, allowing the player to keep a straighter, less "bent" wrist position even when barring. One of the most ergonomically well thought-out designs we've seen. Although a used guitar it is in excellent condition - the soundboard was recently lightly repolished by GV Rubio to remove some wear, so the instrument is now in like-new condition.Photos of Eric preparing materials for this guitarOrfeo Magazine No. 10 - West Coast Luthiers
