This is the Miguel Rodriguez guitar used by Angel Romero for two of his classic recordings - the "Concierto Antillano" by Ernesto Cordero and his famous "Angel Romero plays Bach" album released by Telarc. Angel also concertized regularly for many years with this instrument around the world. Sound is massive and full with excellent sustain and very fast response – all hallmarks of a superior Rodriguez are present here in this instrument. It is also very easy to play - a rare Rodriguez from this period at 650mm scale length. Many years ago Yuris Zeltins repaired 2 hairline cracks in the top and two in the back, which are nearly invisible to the present day. Materials are beautiful as well - the cedar top has some exotic and beautiful dark grains towards the center seam and the back and sides are of palo rosa (pink rosewood), a lightweight hardwood that is spectacular for guitar response on tone. This guitar is simply spectacular - one of the few of Rodriguez most elite sounding instruments in his output. Very desirable for every reason - its quality of sound, aesthetic beauty and provenance – collector and performer alike will find this to be an extremely exciting instrument to own and play.
